Welcome to the Swiss page of the ESCP web site. This page contains details about Colorectal activity and recent news in Swiss Coloproctology Activity (SCPA), along with details of our National Representative. In Switzerland the SCPA is wide spread and actually in constant evolution.

Nevertheless the Swiss Group of Coloproctology Studies, the only Swiss entity with a recognized coloproctology activity, consider the “neutrality” as a priority, and decide not to be involved directly with the ESCP, this decision has been taken in Bern, at the last annual meeting in November 2008.

Swiss general Information

• The national population is about 7'590.800 inhabitants ( 1'601.900 foreigners ) at the 1st January 2008.
• The National day is on August the 1st. Switzerland counts about 24 ESCP Members over 69 certified Colorectal Surgeons.
• About our national represntative: Dr. méd. Xavier Delgadillo had passed his EBSQ examination in Coloproctology 2007 in Portomaso - Malta.
• The Fellowships made are: FMH - Switzerland SSCV - Switzerland, Groupe Suisse d’Etudes Coloproctologiques - Switzerland, ASRCC - Switzerland, ASGBI - Great Britain & Ireland, AECP – Spain with a PaD in Baiona (Vigo)– Spain.
