Since 2008, ESCP have arranged short visits to centres that are local to the annual conference, with full support from Covidien who provided an educational grant to cover travel expenses and local accommodation. These grants have enabled young surgeons to get a glimpse of operations in another centre/country.

This year, through the kind collaboration of hosts in Ireland, it has been possible to extend these opportunities to a total of 12 placements, again supported by Covidien (now Medtronic) and they were awarded to:
