A short report with photos on this one-day international course.
On May 18, 2026, a one-day international TAMIS hands-on course was held in Budapest at the Department of Surgery, Transplantation, and Gastroenterology at Semmelweis University.
In addition to theoretical training, participants were able to practice not only the classic full-thickness rectal wall excision but also partial-thickness dissections - specifically, submucosal and intramuscular dissections - on animal (calf) intestinal specimens.
The training was led by Roel Hompes (Amsterdam UMC) and Balázs Bánky (Semmelweis University, Budapest). The course was officially endorsed by the ESCP. We plan to offer the course in a similar format in 2027.
