If you are a first-time ESCP Scientific and Annual Meeting delegate, this article is especially for you - with tips to help you make the most of your time with us. But even if you are a Conference veteran, there might be a few tidbits worth knowing here for you too!
Getting there
ESCP’s 13th Scientific and Annual Meeting is taking place at the Acropolis Convention Centre, which has been named Europe’s number one convention centre for three years in a row. You’ll find it very easy to get to, and all the hotels available to delegates for the conference are in the close vicinity.
Come two days earlier
At the time of writing, the unique and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of our unique pre-conference placement is still available. Limited to 12 delegates, this two-day learning experience places fellows or senior trainees in coloproctology in a local centre of excellence to observe and participate in its day-to-day clinical activities. Register for your sessions
If you are a first-time delegate or young surgeon, you are in for a treat! The first session on Wednesday – the 9:00 am Symposia entitled Tips, Tricks and Error Traps - is your chance to hear from some of the most eminent surgeons and colorectal specialists of our time. We suggest you get there early to ensure a good seat for this opening session.
In addition to that, there are numerous education and technology update sessions to choose from, so build your conference around your requirements and interests. Make sure you do this as soon as possible because a number of the courses and workshops have already booked up. Review the programme online or on your app.
Network at every opportunity
Part of the magic of the ESCP Scientific and Annual Meeting is the professional and friendship connections you will make. Make sure to join the various networking opportunities we have embedded into the conference agenda and then use your ESCP app to keep those connections going.
On Wednesday we host a Welcome Reception where you will get to meet other delegates as well as speakers while enjoying canapes and drinks in the early evening. On Thursday, we offer an extraordinary beach party at Castel Plage, which is one of the most beautiful private beaches in Nice. Book your ticket early to avoid disappointment.
Enjoy Nice
This beautiful resort town is famous for good reason, with an exciting mix of old-world luxury and contemporary chic hotels, shops, and restaurants nestled along a beautiful coastline. Although the Conference schedule is jam-packed during the day and early evening, you can visit the city centre for drinks or dancing in the later hours if you wish. We recommend that you team up with other delegates to share taxi costs and extend your networking. For those of you who are staying a bit longer in the city, visit the Nice Tourist Information Office online.
