Video introduction from Simon Bach about the STAR-TREC Trial for the Global Reach webinar: 'Achievement Through Collaboration'.

Simon is a colorectal surgeon in Birmingham and chief investigator for the Cancer Research UK TREC and STAR-TREC studies evaluating rectal sparing treatment for early rectal cancer.

The aim of STAR-TREC is to evaluate ways of preserving the rectum for patients with early rectal cancer. It is an international collaborative study, open in the UK, The Netherlands and Denmark. It introduces some new types of treatment: risk adapted radiotherapy fields, two-step response assessment, circulating tumour DNA.
