We are delighted to announce that EAGLE-2 has been accepted for publication in the British Journal of Surgery (BJS), one of the world's leading surgical journals with an impact factor of 9.4.
The manuscript is now entering the production process and, subject to the typesetting process progressing smoothly, is expected to be published online within the next six weeks.
This is an important milestone for the ESCP collaborative research community. The original EAGLE-1 study has become one of the most influential publications in colorectal surgery and is currently recognised as the second most cited paper ever published in BJS. Building on that remarkable legacy, we hope EAGLE-2 will achieve similarly widespread engagement across the global surgical community.
The successful delivery of EAGLE-2 is a testament to the strength of international collaborative research. We are incredibly proud to have reached this stage, but this achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of our collaborators around the world. From patient recruitment and data collection to local study coordination, every participating centre has played a vital role in making this study a success.
