Welcome to the Education & Training Hub

As the leading society in coloproctology in Europe, the goal of ESCP's Education Committee is to deliver and expand high-quality, contemporary education for colorectal surgeons, and allied healthcare professionals, in training and practice. The committee aims to educate to the highest standard across Europe. The key aims of the committee are fulfilled by:

  • Creating an educational portfolio at the ESCP annual meeting
  • Developing internet-based educational resources on the website
  • Actively disseminating interactive educational content to members across Europe
  • Creating a year around educational platform, the European School of Coloproctology

It was a privilege to run the pre-congress TAMIS hands-on course on behalf of ESCP’s Education Committee. The course was held at Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Campus Virchow-Klinikum on Tuesday 19 September 2017 and it was a great success.

This one-day course consisted of short lectures focusing on technical demands and step-by-step procedures for TAMIS (TransAnal Minimal Invasive Surgery) and the principles of TaTME (Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision). The skills lab offered 24 international attendees the opportunity to learn innovative techniques under the direct supervision of 14 colorectal experts from all over Europe. The workstations were fully equipped with videoendoscopic units, various laparoscopic instruments and continuously inflated calf colon models.

We would like to give special thanks to all the following Industry sponsors: Applied Medical, Olympus, Karl Storz, DACH Medical, Medtronic and Conmed who made this skills lab possible and gave tireless technical support throughout the course.

Delegates feedback proved that the course was very successful and useful for learning these innovative techniques.

We are proud of being part of this European collaborative network… to be continued!
