The European School of Coloproctology (ESC) of ESCP continues to offer a year-round platform for educational opportunities and is increasing its activities.

The ESC offers education in coloproctology for medics at different stages of their professional career and aims to promote current knowledge and practice. Different formats of training activities will be presented. The activities are supported by educational grants from industry. ESC/ESCP is responsible for designing the objectives and educational contents of these events.

Laparoscopic CME programme

The health and wellbeing of ESCP members is a top priority for the organisation and the ESCP Executive Committee are closely monitoring the global Coronavirus situation as it develops.

Unfortunately the LapCME course scheduled for the 15-16 June at ORSI in Belgium has been postponed until further notice. Applications will remain open and we will update the website with the new dates once they have been confirmed.

In the meantime, we advise members to adhere to recommendations from local governments and the World Health Organisations (WHO) in helping to prevent/reduce the risk of spreading the Coronavirus on a larger scale and to contact relevant travel operators directly for updates on scheduled travel arrangements.

Here's a video of the third Laparoscopic CME Programme which took place on the 22-23 January 2020.

IPAA and continent ileostomy workshop

The third IPAA and continent ileostomy (Kock pouch and modifications) will take place on the 5-6 November 2020 at the Johnson & Johnson Institute in Hamburg, Germany. Unfortunately the course scheduled for the 5-6 November at the Johnson & Johnson Institute in Hamburg has been postponed until further notice.

Berlin Days

A new initiative will start in Berlin in 2020. 'Berlin Days' workshops offering hands-on experience and a variety of courses will take place over a period of two-days (Prevention of Parastomal Hernia, Proctology, TAMIS, EBSQ Preparation Course). Running these courses over a two-day period will allow participants to join more than one course and make the most of their time in Berlin.

New initiatives

Since late 2018 we are now in the advanced stages of setting up a Robotic Training Pathway. More to follow!

These are exciting times for those interested to learn and to teach!
