ESCP’s 17th Scientific and Annual Conference Round-up

Thank you for joining us in Dublin and online for the 17th Scientific and Annual Conference of the European Society of Coloproctology.

Friends, colleagues, members and partners, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who made our 17th annual scientific conference in Dublin the overwhelming success it was.

Our first in-person event in three years was attended by 1505 members in person and 142 virtual attendees from across the globe. With delegates from Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Australia, and Africa, it indeed was a global event where new relationships were created and existing friendships strengthened.

During the three-day event, over 400 presentations, symposiums, sessions, Q&As, guidelines, industry workshops and discussions were delivered by a diverse panel of experts, providing the latest research, studies and techniques into colorectal science. To everyone that devoted their expertise and time, we thank you again.

To celebrate the event and to remind you of the experience, we are pleased to share our round-up video of the conference. Enjoy!

Thank you again,
Klaus E. Matzel & Eloy Espin Basany

As ESCP works toward its aim of being the professional organisation in Europe for the prevention and treatment of colorectal disease through education, training and research, the annual ESCP Conference is an integral aspect of our activities toward achieving this.

We were thrilled to welcome delegates to our first face-to-face conference since the start of the pandemic. After hosting two successful virtual conferences, we took learnings from the online space and created an enhanced in-person conference experience in Dublin.

Registered and paid-up attendees can still access the session recordings for up to one month post-conference - please check your ESCP registration email for details. Following this date, the session recordings will be available exclusively to ESCP members via the ESCP Society website members login area.

Klaus E. Matzel President of ESCPDear Colleagues, Members of the ESCP

It is a great honour and pleasure as President of the ESCP to invite you to our Society’s annual conference. After two years of virtual-only events for our main congress, we are looking forward to experiencing the richness and depth of an in-person meeting in Dublin, Ireland, from 21st to 23rd September 2022.

The various committees of the Society - Programme, Educational, Research, Guidelines, Communications, Membership, Global Reach - and our supporting team have contributed to an exciting and educational event, which covers an extensive range of topics, reflects the latest developments in Coloproctology and targets a diverse audience.

In this time of uncertainty, we believe it will be an exceptional opportunity to meet again, interact in person, exchange ideas, learn from scientific and educational content and enjoy social activities with friends and colleagues. Please be assured that every effort will be made to make this a safe meeting.

For those that are unable to attend our conference in person, there will be a virtual element delivered through the ESCP platforms.

I am looking forward to welcoming you to the 17th annual meeting of our Society. Your participation will contribute to the ongoing success of one of the world's leading Societies in Coloproctology.
