The Turkish Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery (TKRCD) is the leading national authority in colorectal surgery, driving scientific progress, high-quality education, and multidisciplinary collaboration in Turkiye. The society plays a central role in shaping clinical standards, fostering innovation, and strengthening international academic integration.

Continuous education is a core priority. TKRCD delivers structured monthly “Article Hour” meetings, regular webinars, and nationwide courses, alongside live surgical training programs conducted across major centers in Turkiye. These activities ensure the dissemination of up-to-date knowledge and advanced surgical skills.

The TKRCD Virtual Academy represents a flagship initiative, providing a comprehensive, 24/7 digital learning environment with extensive surgical video libraries, interactive modules, and certified educational pathways.

Scientific working groups within TKRCD actively lead national and international research collaborations. Through Delphi-based consensus processes and high-impact publications, these groups contribute to standardising clinical practice and advancing evidence-based colorectal care.

TKRCD maintains a strong and active partnership with the European Society of Colorectal Surgery (ESCP), contributing to joint educational initiatives and collaborative research. Turkiye is currently represented by 119 ESCP members and 53 EBSQ-certified colorectal surgeons.

The International TKRCD Fall Symposium (Izmir, October 23–24, 2026) will focus on “From Molecule to Technique,” addressing the full spectrum from tumor biology to advanced surgical strategies, including an international Delphi consensus on neoadjuvant therapy.
