It was my great honor to have been selected as the JSCP/ESCP travelling fellowship to Dublin in 2015. My experience to attend ESCP meeting and to visit St James’s hospital of Leeds University, Örebro University and Karolinska Institute were both exciting and inspiring.On 27 Oct 2015
A few days prior to ESCP Dublin 2015, twelve senior trainees in coloproctology took part in pre-congress placements at six centres of excellence in Ireland. The host centres welcomed the trainees for two days, allowing them to participate in each centre’s day-to-day clinical activities. Here are the trainees' reports.On 23 Sep 2015
Since 2008, ESCP have arranged short visits to centres that are local to the annual conference, with full support from Covidien who provided an educational grant to cover travel expenses and local accommodation. These grants have enabled young surgeons to get a glimpse of operations in another centre/country.

ESCP offered nine 3-month fellowship opportunities between August 2014 and June 2015, each worth €8,000 and eight of these were taken up. ESCP would like to express their sincere thanks to Ethicon and Medtronic, each company supported three fellows and ESCP supported three too.

It was an honour and privilege to win the BJS Society prize for the Best of the Six Best for my paper entitled “The healing effect of mesenchymal adipose-tissue-derived stem cells on colonic anastomosis under ischaemic conditions” which I presented on 26th September 2014 at the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP) Annual Scientific Meeting in Barcelona, Spain.ESCP Secretariat
