Our program this year commences with a choice of pre-meeting workshops on Wednesday 22 September, the popular Core Subject Update and Anorectal & Pelvic Floor Ultrasound courses are both back, and in addition for the first time this year, there will be a Trainee Workshop on Wednesday afternoon. There will be five 'State of the Art' lectures delivered by recognized experts in the field, each followed by discussion. Free Papers and Oral Poster presentations will take place in parallel sessions, so that again, all main symposia and keynote lectures are plenary which was appreciated by all at the meeting in Prague last year.
The official opening on Thursday morning will be followed by a video-surgery session using video presentations by invited presenters with interactive chairmanship and discussion from the floor. The Trials Symposium is back again, featuring submitted trial abstracts, selected on merit by the ESCP Research Committee. These abstracts too will be included in the Colorectal Disease supplement featuring all accepted abstracts, available at the meeting in September and online.
Symposia will cover sphincter preservation in low rectal cancer, anorectal malformations, technical advances, modern treatment of acute colitis and peritoneal carcinomatosis. As usual the meeting will also include the Six Best Papers and 'Consultants’ Corner'.
