Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology and Greek Society of Coloproctology are joining forces for the first time in a series of webinars aiming towards standardisation in clinical practice. Each webinar will include 3 lectures of 20 minutes delivered by world renowned and local speakers from various disciplines.

The topic of the first webinar is the Significant Polyp Early Rectal Cancer (SPERC) lesion. The webinar aims to promote standardised practice and reporting following a multidisciplinary approach. The targeted audience consists of gastroenterologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and oncologists.

The first lecture of the webinar will address the optical assessment and diagnosis of SPERC lesions and will be delivered by Dr George Tziatzios, a local Gastroenterologist based at Konstantopoulio Hospital in Athens, Greece. This will be followed by a lecture from Gina Brown, Professor of Gastrointestinal Imaging at the Imperial College, London UK. Her lecture will address the MR assessment of SPERC lesions. Final lecture will be delivered by Nick West, Professor of Gastrointestinal Pathology at the University of Leeds, UK. He will address the pathological assessment of these lesions.

An interactive discussion will follow the conclusion of the three lectures as the participants will have the opportunity to submit questions. The webinar will be moderated by Dr Konstantina Paraskeva, President of HSG and Head of Gastroenterology Department at Konstantopoulio Hospital, Athens and Mr Ioannis Virlos, Secretary Geral of GSCP and Head of IB Surgical Department at Metropolital General Hospital, Athens, Greece.
