Throughout June ESCP shared several informative and though-provoking videos from a number of contributors to its monthly topic: Haemorrhoids.
This was co-ordinated by Young ESCP member Gaetano Gallo from the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences, University of Catanzaro in Italy.
Following an introductory video from Gaetano, #HaermorrhoidsMonth kicked off with a presentation from Arcangelo Picciariello (Department of Emergency and Organ Transplantation, University of Bari, Italy) discussing the surgical management of haemorrhoids, following a survey taken of 32,000 patients in Italy.
Dr Roervik from the Department of Surgery, Holbaek Hospital, Denmark discussed Classification of the Haemorrhoidal disease.
Dr. Claudio Elbetti and Dr. Iacopo Giani looked at Tailored Anal Block for Haemorrhoids.
Prof. Vidal in France, talked about the novel technique 'Emborrhoid' (Haemorrhoid Embolization).
Paolo Giamundo also introduced 'HeLP', a novel procedure for the treatment of symptomatic haemorrhoids.
