HSG/GSCP Series Webinar 02: Significant Polyp Early Rectal Cancer (SPERC): Treatment Modalities

The Greek Society of Coloproctology and the Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology are joining forces for the first time in a series of webinars aimed at standardising clinical practice.
Each webinar includes three lectures from world-renowned foreign and Greek speakers of various specialties. Registration and attendance of these seminars is free.

The 2nd webinar will take place on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, 18:00 UK, 19:00 CET, 20:00 EET and Greece. It is a follow-up to the first webinar and focuses on treatment options for SPERC pathological entities.

- 1st Lecture: Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) - Dr T Thomaidis, Greece
- 2nd Lecture: Beyond ESD - Dr G Tribonias, Greece

- Clinical cases session: MDT Approach Mr F DI Fabio, UK
Moderators: Prof G Theodoropoulos (GSCP) and Prof A Manolakis (HSG)
The first lecture will address Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) as therapeutic modality for SPERC lesions treatment and will be delivered by Dr Thomas Thomaidis, Head of 1st Gastroenterology Department at Athens Medical Centre in Athens, Greece.
This will be followed by a lecture from Dr George Trymponias, Head of Gastroenterology Department at Red Cross Hospital in Athens, Greece, addressing Beyond ESD therapeutic endoscopic modality for SPERC lesions treatment.
Final lecture will be delivered by Albert Woltuis, Professor of Surgery at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. Professor Wolthuis will address the surgical treatment of these lesions by TAMIS.
This webinar has an additional feature of Clinical Cases Session: MDT approach which will be presented by Mr Francesco Di Fabio, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and Clinical Lead at Basingstoke North Hampshire Hospital, UK.
An interactive discussion will follow the conclusion of the lectures and the clinical cases session as the participants will have the opportunity to submit questions.
The webinar will be moderated by George Theodoropoulos, Professor of Colorectal Surgery at Hippokration University Hospital in Athens and GSCP Vice President, Greece and Anastasios Manolakis, Professor of Gastroenterology at Larissa University Hospital, Greece.
